SMS Terms of Service

1. Service Description
Rentra provides SMS (text message) notifications as part of our property management platform. These messages help landlords, tenants, and maintenance vendors stay informed about important property-related matters.

2. Types of Messages
By opting in, you may receive the following types of SMS messages:
- Payment confirmations and reminders
- Rent due date notifications
- Late payment alerts
- Maintenance request updates and urgent alerts
- Emergency property notifications
- Lease renewal reminders
- Two-way communication with your landlord, tenants, or vendors
- Vendor job assignments, quote requests, and status updates
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your account activity and notification preferences. You may receive anywhere from a few messages per month to several per week, depending on your properties and settings.
4. Costs and Charges
Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging rates from your wireless carrier apply to all SMS messages sent and received. Rentra does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may. Contact your wireless carrier for details about your messaging plan.
5. Opting In
You opt in to receive SMS messages from Rentra when you:
- Add your phone number in your account settings and check the SMS consent checkbox
- Accept a tenant invitation that includes SMS communication
- Register as a maintenance vendor with SMS notifications enabled
- Reply START to our SMS number
All consent events are logged with a timestamp for compliance purposes. Your first message from Rentra will include the following disclosure:
“Rentra Property Mgmt Alerts. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
6. Opting Out
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by:
- Texting STOP to any message you receive from us
- Disabling SMS notifications in your account settings
- Contacting us at support@rentra.co
After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message. No additional messages will be sent unless you opt back in.
To re-subscribe, text START to our number or re-enable SMS in your account settings.

You will receive a response with support contact information and instructions.
8. Privacy
Your phone number and SMS communication data are protected under our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, share, or disclose your mobile phone number to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number is used solely to provide service-related communications.
9. Supported Carriers
Our SMS service is supported by major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and most regional carriers. Carrier support is subject to change. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these SMS terms from time to time. Continued use of our SMS service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via SMS or email.
